RIDGEWAY - Reverend Edward (Ed) Allen Adams, of Durham, NC, entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior on October 19, 2011. Edward, the son of Ms. Jeanette Dawkins and Mr. Jasper Adams and the grandson of Ms. Robbie Mae Adams was born June 15, 1980 in Ridgeway, SC. At an early age, he became a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Andrew C. Johnson. He was ordained by Fairfield County Baptist Association on February 25, 2007. Edward graduated from Fairfield Central High School in Winnsboro, SC in 1998. Edward went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Winthrop University and a Masters of Healthcare Administration from The Ohio State University. He was pursuing a Masters of Divinity from Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC. Edward accepted his call to ministry in November 2005 and has been blessed to share the gospel throughout the country. With God’s guidance, Edward started a 501(c)3 Community Foundation called Health Education and Leadership Program, Inc. (HELP) and established a youth ministry in South Carolina called Friday Night Live focused on exposing young people to Christ in a contemporary environment. It allowed over 250 youth to have an opportunity to experience God through praise and worship each month. Ed loved people. He was generous, witty, and his heart knew no bounds. Ed’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of his existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which he lived. He leaves to cherish his memories forever his loving and devoted wife of 4 ½ years, April J. Adams and their daughter Elysa Simone Adams of Durham, NC, as well as both parents, Ms. Jeanette Dawkins and Mr. Jasper Adams, and paternal grandmother Ms. Robbie Mae Adams of Ridgeway, SC. He is also survived by his siblings, Mrs. Jacqueline (Eric) Gill, Mr. Jasper Marcellus Adams, Ms. Andrea Teresa Harrison, Mr. Dean (Stacy) Gaither, Ms. Jocelyn Dawkins, his step-siblings, Mrs. Cassandra Hardimon, Mr. Robert (Jamie) Stone, Mr. Rodney (Montoo) Stone, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all of whom will dearly miss him.
